Watercolors have always been her passion. She took classes in the 80s under Fred Leach at FAVA in Oberlin specializing in landscapes.

Watercolors have always been her passion. She took classes in the 80s under Fred Leach at FAVA in Oberlin specializing in landscapes.
After retiring a few years ago, she took up the brushes and began painting 5x7 pet portraits. She signed out a book at the library and tried to paint one of each breed. The exposure gained her some custom orders from her consignment booth at the Wakeman store. She now offers 8x10s and larger if there are three or more pets on one order.

What started as a hobby Nanci painted pets on plastic Christmas ornaments for friends and family with her acrylic paints. She added a holiday ribbon and wrapped them in tissue paper then placed them in cute little boxes. She displayed them at a local antique store in Wakeman, Ohio. After Covid-19 that store closed for business. She set up at a few craft shows, but most orders are by word-of-mouth.
